Medella Health wins $7,500 as runner-up in Dyson Award competition

Article via Waterloo Record —Medella Health has won US$7,500 as a runner-up in the prestigious James Dyson Award international design competition.

The Kitchener startup, founded by University of Waterloo graduates Harry Gandhi, Huayi Gao and Maarij Baig, has developed a smart contact lens that reads the glucose levels in tears and transmits the data to a smartphone. It’s designed to help people with diabetes better manage their condition.
