January Investment Meeting Recap

The Golden Triangle Angel Network (GTAN) started 2018 with an Investor Meeting that had an excellent turnout. GTAN welcomed its members, guests and many students from both the University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University, representing their start-up funds  within each of these institutions. Attendees saw pitches from three innovative companies, Dash MD, Obie.ai and AutoServe1, who will all be moving into due diligence. Learn about each below:

Dash MD

Dash MD CEO Zach Fisch presented a personal health management application that aims to connect the dots in healthcare. Often hospital patients face the obstacle of not knowing how to adequately manage their recovery following a procedure or accident, which has the potential to lead to an even more serious medical issue. Dash MD provides its users with trusted and reliable resources for better self-care and recovery management. In addition, the digital solution offers many benefits to health systems, including improved care and recovery outcomes for their patients, fundraising opportunities and a means to survey populations efficiently and economically.

Chris Buttenham, CEO of Obie.ai, pitched his AI-enabled technology, which organizes internal company documents to improve productivity within organizations. Employees spend over 20% of their work week searching for files, creating a multi-billion dollar problem. Obie.ai is proven to reduce the time employees spend looking for information by over 30%. This friendly virtual assistant is embedded into the tools used in workplaces and provides individuals with access to the information needed to do their jobs as soon as they need it. Attending the meeting with Chris is Ravinda Seunath, co-founder and Chief Experience Officer.

The last pitch of the evening was from CEO of AutoServe1, Gerry Bleau. AutoServe1 is a cloud-based, digital inspection SaaS platform that provides auto service technicians with the means to communicate required repair work with their clients via images and video. AutoServe1 brings trust and transparency into the automotive service industry, a field that often lacks these characteristics. By utilizing AutoServe1, auto shops can increase their revenue as well as improve the customer experience.
