Dejero – Dejero expanding after landing $32-million investment

Article via The Record – Dejero plans to hire upwards of 50 people during the next year after securing $32 million in additional financing.

The Waterloo-based company currently employs 93 people and plans to hire 50 more in the coming months to build out its latest mobile technology platform, which combines cellular, satellite and IP (Internet Protocol) connections from multiple sources to deliver broadcast quality video to customers.

Dejero is moving from its focus on pure broadcast and video technology and into a broader connectivity play, chief executive officer Bruce Anderson said Tuesday.

“We clearly have new products and need new people to help us continue with that development,” he said.

“It is a different product range that we will be selling into different markets. The bulk of the money is really to help us accelerate to market with the new connectivity piece of the business.”

The company plans to hire software developers, programmers, network engineers, and hardware specialists. Business development and sales teams will also be expanded.
