GE Healthcare using Otto Motors self-driving vehicles in repair centre

Article via Waterloo Record – Otto Motors, the Clearpath Robotics division that makes a self-driving vehicle for warehouses, has landed a high-profile customer — GE Healthcare.

Clearpath said Wednesday that GE Healthcare is using a fleet of Otto vehicles in its repair operations centre in Milwaukee. The vehicles, platforms designed for transporting materials in industrial environments, deliver parts to workstation cells that do more than 2,000 repairs of medical devices each week.

GE says using the vehicles in the 280,000-square-foot centre has resulted in a 66-per-cent increase in productive floor space.

Kitchener-based Clearpath also makes autonomous robots for a wide range of industrial applications.
