January 2018 GTAN | RAW Recap

Last week, the Golden Triangle Angel Network (GTAN) hosted its first GTAN | RAW event of 2018. GTAN | RAW is a monthly event aimed at early-stage companies who are seeking business and pitch advice from Angels before seeking funding. Founders have the opportunity to present their pitch to GTAN members and receive valuable feedback, advice and mentorship. Entrepreneurs enjoy a learning opportunity and are provided with a space to network with members of the GTAN community.

At Conestoga College, four founders presented their businesses in a quick 5-minute pitch to a panel of experienced judges and a full room of attendees. The panel included Melissa Durrell, one of Canada’s top pitch coaches; tech investor and entrepreneur Randall Howard; and Mike Dearden, president at Dearden & Associates Inc. Read about each of the pitching companies below:

Brenda Potter Phelan pitched her company Legacy Tracker, a web-based personal financial organization tool that tracks and safeguards important information. Users are provided with a simple, accessible and secure platform to regulate their money matters.

Zach Fisch is the CEO of Dash MD, an application which improves the recovery processes and outcomes for hospital patients. By providing information, tools and healthcare resources necessary for care management, Dash MD helps patients undergo a successful recovery.

Renae Quinton pitched Crystal Clear Goals, a workbook and application designed to help students ages 10-13 visualize, set and achieve long-term goals. The 52-week program provides users with pointers and suggestions as they make achievements, leading them to their year-end success.

Equestrian lessons are expensive, fast-paced and contain an extensive amount of instruction. Lilian Reinfels has created a solution with her application called EquiApp. EquiApp archives equestrian lessons using voice-to-text technology, pictures and videos in order to better prepare students for their next session. This record-keeping technology provides riders with a personal ROI.
